All Eyes On Me

Jeremy Trayvon - All Eyes On Me

Divinity Ray Season 1 Episode 7

After successfully operating two stores in Downtown Los Angeles, it was time to take another risk. In the summer of 2021, Jeremy Trayvon owner of Eighty Five Eighty Six relocated his two stores into a much larger space at the Beverly Center Mall. The only caveat? We were in the middle of a worldwide pandemic. Many of his peers and family questioned his decision. Why take such a risk? He could have stayed tucked away in the Fashion District where he had a loyal customer base and booming e-commerce operation. He held private shopping experiences and store hours operated on an appointment-only basis. Moving into a mall required an increased staff that would keep his business open 7 days a week, 10 hours a day. Not to mention the buildout costs, increased rent and expanded inventory. Beverly Center is located in the heart of America’s television and film industries, minutes away from the affluent neighborhoods of Beverly Hills, Bel Air, Brentwood, West Hollywood and West Los Angeles. Over 4,000 registered fashion stylists routinely buy product at Beverly Center for use in TV and movies. In September of 2021, Jeremy opened his doors to this new demographic. His sales quickly accelerated and by the end of the year, he doubled his sales from the year prior. Jeremy is only one or two black-owned businesses in Beverly Center. This episode celebrates his rise to success and becoming a father.
